Molly's Walking

Miss Molly is walking all over these days.  She's so impressed with her new skill that she just walks all around the house entertaining herself.  Here's a short video of her at the park the other day.

Beautiful Fall Saturday

We had a great time today enjoying the nice fall weather. 

We started the morning with a visit to the H Street Farmer's Market.  There were lots of activities for little kids, including one in which Gavin made his own vegetable bug.

Afterwards, we visited the National Arboretum for a little "hike" in the woods and wildflowers.  It was a perfect way to enjoy the outdoors without having to travel too far.

Toward the end of our visit, we discovered the delightful Youth Garden.  It was filled with lots of flowers to attract butterflies and bees as well as tons of vegetables including the brightly colored peppers below.

Happy First Birthday, Molly!

We celebrated Molly's first birthday on Tuesday with a yummy cupcake.  She was pretty mesmerized by the candle.  Happy Birthday, Miss Molly!

Miss Molly's Ice Cream Birthday Party

We celebrated Molly's first birthday today with family and friends at Molly's Ice Cream Parlor.

Molly decided to start walking on her own (or with one finger from whoever will lend a hand) just in time for her birthday party.  Here she is with her new baby doll from Auntie Laura.  It was a quick favorite.  She won't let it out of her sight for long!

Our Budding Architect

Last week, Gavin impressed both his parents by building ALL BY HIMSELF the fine specimen of architecture shown in the pictures below. 

Dad thought it reminded him of a church with a bell tower. Mom thought it would make a great museum. Gavin described it as a playground and noted the slide as its best feature.

His proud parents (and amateur critics) observed the symmetry of the tower on the right balanced against whimsical angles on the left.
