Trick or Treat!

One of our happy jack-o-lanterns.  The face was chosen by Gavin from one of his new Halloween books.  Thanks, Grammy!

We set out around 5:30 last night with Molly in the stroller and Gavin on foot.  The first couple houses were a bust as the occupants were out doing their own trick or treating with their little ones.  They did give us a chance to rehearse with Gavin, however.

He was definitely more excited about it this year, managing to say Trick or Treat, Happy Halloween, and Thank You if not always in the correct order.

Molly didn't do any true trick or treating, but enjoyed chasing after big bro.

That's all until next year.  Now, we've got to find a way to make Gavin forget all the candy that he pulled in last night.

Great pictures! Today a Mom told me that she told her kids that they get to keep one candy for each year old they are and then they put the rest of the candy out for the candy fairy who picks it up and gives it to other kids around the world who weren't able to go trick or treating because they were home sick. (She really just takes it in to work.) I thought this was cute and it has been working for her 3 and 5 year olds.
